Trainer's Corner: Trey Ragland
October 2010

Join us as we get to know one of Innovatia's top trainers, Trey Ragland:
Innovatia: How long have you been an instructor?
Trey: I’ve been an instructor for eleven years.
Innovatia: What are your areas of expertise?
Trey: I am currently certified to deliver over 30 courses. DMS 100/200/250/500 Translations, BCM 50/200/400/450, and IP Office 6.0 are the technologies in which I have expertise.
Innovatia: What are some of the things you like about being an instructor?
Trey: I enjoy interacting with such a wide variety of people from all over the world. Although being away from my family isn’t ideal, I do enjoy traveling to new and interesting places. I feel extremely valued and respected as a professional.
Innovatia: Do you have any advice for a student taking their first virtual course?
Trey: Enjoy the learning experience from the comfort of your own home!
Innovatia: From your point of view, what are some of the advantages of virtual instructor-led training?
Trey: I was part of the original movement of the BCM configuration classes to the “X” format. I believe we are able to deliver virtually all of the classroom experience, but with less cost and travel obligations on the part of the student.
Innovatia: Can you tell us about one of the more rewarding moments you had while teaching a class?
Trey: I do not need to be showered with compliments for my job to be rewarding. It’s rewarding enough when the students are enjoying the class and learning the material effectively.
Innovatia: What is the most unusual place you have traveled to deliver a class?
Trey: Trinidad – I had to drive on the left side of the road. I got lost every single day I was there, and I kept getting in the wrong side of the car!
Innovatia: What do you do in your spare time?
Trey: My family and I are heavily involved with our church and I spend quite a bit of time with my three children tending to their various needs and activities. I am also an avid college football/basketball and hockey fan.
