Spolight On: ContactNB
October 2010
In each issue of our Training Newsletter, Innovatia will feature a company that we feel would be of interest to our readership. For this first issue, we are featuring ContactNB.
ContactNB is a provincial industry association representing New Brunswick’s contact centre community. In New Brunswick today there are over 18,000 people employed in the Contact Centre Industry which equates to nearly 1 in every 20 New Brunswickers! Clearly, ContactNB has an important role to fill. ContactNB is committed to a focus on industry growth, employee development and enhanced community awareness, ultimately leading to the development of an industry which is professional and sustainable in nature. Working with its members, ContactNB constantly strives to ensure that the industry adopts standards and best practices that lead to employees that receive the very best opportunities and customers that receive the very best service possible.
So what role does ContactNB play for it’s members? Members of ContactNB enjoy the opportunity of networking with other contact centres and being able to present a common front to government, media, the public, service providers and others on issues of interest or concern to the industry. Contact NB helps to define industry training needs, communicating with training providers and developing, accrediting and acquiring training for new and existing employees. ContactNB conducts research on best practices, demographics, future challenges and legal and business issues to ensure that everyone has the information required to put their best foot forward. Finally, ContactNB brings everyone together several times a year to meet on current issues and celebrate successes, through annual conferences and award events.
Coming up in October, ContactNB will be hosting it’s annual conference ContactAtlantic. This year, the Conference will be taking place in Moncton, New Brunswick on October 19 and 20. This year’s conference will feature a variety of Speakers and Sessions designed to bring information about the latest trends in the Contact Centre to those people attending. Just some of the topics to be covered include: Driving Excellence in Today’s Contact Centre, How Social Media is Changing Customer Service, Recognition and Rewards in the Contact Centre, Success Factors for Career Building, and Training in a Contact Centre Environment. With speakers from companies such as ING, Royal Bank, and Radian6 this year’s conference is definitely the place to be.
